Paula is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and she has 15 years of experience in the mental health field. Her previous positions include working as a Mobile Therapist/Behavioral Specialist Consultant working with children/adolescents and their families in the school/home/community settings, and as a Mental Health Professional for a Family Based Mental Health Service program conducting Structural Family Therapy with clients and their families.
She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University. She earned her undergraduate degree from Penn State University. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Recently, she became rostered in Cognitive Processing Therapy, and her registration in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is pending. She has also received training in Trauma Art Narrative Therapy (TANT), and in Sandtray Therapy, and she incorporates techniques of both in her work. Additionally, she has received two years of post-graduate training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, and her registration as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) is currently pending as well.
Her areas of special interest include trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, anger management, parent-child conflict, and sexual abuse. Populations served are children, adolescents, and adults, and she conducts individual and family therapy sessions. Paula’s style is goal-oriented. She strives to assist clients in developing the skills necessary for self-empowerment, and improvement of the overall quality of their lives. She uses an eclectic blend of therapeutic modalities to achieve this with her clients.
