My name is Afarin Rajaei and I have a BC and M.S in clinical psychology. My master’s thesis was about the effectiveness of couple therapy based on Gottman’s method of decreasing emotional divorce, improvement of verbal and non-verbal communication and interpersonal cognitive distortions among conflicted couples; and the results were amazing. I have a certificate in marriage and family therapy from Antioch University New England and am a member of the AAMFT (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy). I’m trained in delivering marital therapy with Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
I provide services for individuals, couples and families and find interpersonal interaction riveting. I deeply believe that our relationships matter; whether with ourselves or others; they could be the sources of our happiness, biggest growths or challenges and sufferings.
I’m a pre-licensed marriage and family therapist who works under the supervision of an approved AAMFT supervisor to gain her hours toward licensing; I currently work at Centre Psychology Group in State College, PA. I’ve been working in the area of individual, couples and family therapy for eight years and speak both English and Farsi (Persian) fluently.
